Bigots want to take back their country

The Office of the Presidency is under siege
By Mitchellfred

Unpatriotic bigots have threatened, insulted, and disrespected the president and first lady. Are they testing the resolve of the White House? Bigots want to take back their country. Daniel Coward pleaded guilty in a plot to kill Obama. Sergeant Pat Shearer is being probed by Peoria Police Department for posting a picture of seven young men on facebook who had used the president’s silhouette for target practice.

Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner referred to the first lady as having a “big butt.”

Congressman Joe Wilson disrespected the Office of the Presidency when he called the president a liar on national television. Rahm Emanuel, then White House Chief of Staff, said, “No president has been treated like that ever.” Capitol Hill observers said it was an unprecedented breach of protocol and showed utter disrespect for the Office of the Presidency.

Recently Governor Jan Brewer of Arizona took the liberty to shake her finger in the president’s face. In a debate over the debt ceiling, Rep. Doug Lamborn said that being associated with President Obama is similar to touching a "tar baby." So far, after the disrespect, threats, and insults, there have been no consequences.

No one dared to disrespect the Office of the Presidency before an African-American was elected president. In my opinion, threats, insults, and disrespecting the Office of the Presidency are tantamount to treason.

The White House has to come down hard on all unpatriotic bigots. If you can’t respect the man, at least respect the Office of the Presidency. After the damage has been done, bigots apologize and start over.  How far will they go to take back their country before they suffer the consequences?

Chicago’s Law Abiding Citizens left Defenseless

by Mitchellfred

Are Chicago’s law abiding citizens being left for prey? Violence in Chicago on weekends seems to be escalating. After the past weekends of violence, you would think Illinois legislators and local politicians would get the message and see the need for law abiding citizens and senior citizens to arm and defend themselves. Illinois Conceal and Carry HB-148 should be a no-brainer for passage.  Instead, the legislators and local politicians are letting the criminals and gangbangers run amuck while they look bewildered and citizens are left defenseless.

According to the Sun-Times on February 6, 2012, a self-confessed Vice Lords gang member Terry Jones, 26, allegedly shot at two officers as they sat in a marked Chevrolet Tahoe on the 1400 block of South Avers, guarding a car that had been seized following an earlier police chase. Following his arrest he said that “the police officers were chasing his friend and he wanted them to chase him.” Since the police are under siege by criminals and gangs, maybe HB-148 will be passed.
Assault on citizens seems common place in Chicago. A criminal shown on camera snatching a woman’s purse, woman assaulted on campus, senior citizen knocked down CTA stairs by a criminal, and a 62 year old Chicago man was mangled by pit bulls.
Senior Citizens should be allowed to “Conceal and Carry” and the only criteria for them to conceal and carry should be no criminal record, FOID card, and a resident of Chicago.

As resident and senior citizen, I am in favor of kicking the Illinois Legislators out of office unless they pass a law (HB-148) that gives citizens the right to protect themselves.

The prevailing argument against arming citizens is that more innocent people will be killed if citizens are armed. How bad can it get? Innocent children and law abiding citizens are being killed, bitten by dogs daily and they are defenseless. Are you cautious when you go out, especially at night? Because you might be bitten by a dog, mugged or killed by a criminal?

Chicago’s Law abiding citizens should be able to protect themselves from dogs, criminals, gangs, and not be left for prey. Wisconsin and Indiana have conceal and carry laws, why can’t Illinois?
